在中國(guó)，國(guó)家的一切權(quán)力屬于人民。正因?yàn)槿绱?，“?jiān)持人民當(dāng)家作主”成為新時(shí)代堅(jiān)持和發(fā)展中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義基本方略之一。黨的十九大報(bào)告強(qiáng)調(diào)，堅(jiān)持黨的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)、人民當(dāng)家作主、依法治國(guó)有機(jī)統(tǒng)一是社會(huì)主義政治發(fā)展的必然要求。必須堅(jiān)持中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義政治發(fā)展道路，堅(jiān)持和完善人民代表大會(huì)制度、中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的多黨合作和政治協(xié)商制度、民族區(qū)域自治制度、基層群眾自治制度，鞏固和發(fā)展廣泛的愛(ài)國(guó)統(tǒng)一戰(zhàn)線(xiàn)，發(fā)展社會(huì)主義協(xié)商民主，健全民主制度，豐富民主形式，拓寬民主渠道，保證人民當(dāng)家作主落實(shí)到國(guó)家政治生活和社會(huì)生活之中。

The People’s Ownership Role

In China state power belongs to the people. It is therefore only natural that respect for the ownership of the people is included as one of the basic policies for promoting socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. In his report to the 19th CPC National Congress, Xi Jinping emphasizes the unity of leadership by the CPC, the ownership role of the people and the rule of law as a natural outcome of socialist political development. Our resolve will not waver to continue on the path of socialist political development with Chinese characteristics, and to strengthen and improve people’s congresses at all levels, multiparty cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the CPC, regional ethnic autonomy, and community-level self-governance. Our objectives are, among others, to strengthen and develop a broadest possible patriotic united front, improve socialist consultative democracy and our democratic institutions，diversify our forms of democracy, and establish more democratic channels of interaction between the government and the public, so as to ensure that respect for the people’s ownership role is incorporated in all aspects of political and social life.
